Reading is the western gateway to Montego Bay, where the coastal road climbs into hillsides delivering sweeping views over the bay toward the marine park. Historically a quieter residential and light-commercial corridor, it has attracted new villa and view-condo developments as buyers seek panoramas and value just minutes from the city core and the airport. For investors, Reading offers a lower entry than Rose Hall with appreciation upside as the western corridor densifies. View villas and homes run roughly US$250,000 to US$900,000, around US$230-$300 per square foot, with gross yields of 5-7% from a mix of long-let and short-let tenants drawn to the views.
