About Centro / Calle Santander

Calle Santander is Panajachel's vibrant main artery, a pedestrian-busy strip of craft stalls, cafes, hostels, tour operators and restaurants running down toward the lakefront public beach and boat docks. It is the commercial heart of the lake and where tourist footfall, and rental demand, concentrates most heavily. For investors it is the prime short-term-rental location: studios and apartments near Santander stay highly occupied, earning Q8,000-25,000 monthly and gross yields of 8-12%. Properties within the 200 m lakeshore strip require a Guatemalan S.A. structure, but most Santander stock sits just inland and can be owned freehold. With entry from around USD 100,000 and steady 4-7% appreciation, the centre is the lake's most liquid and cash-flow-driven play.
