Stari Grad

Stari Grad is the Sarajevo that postcards capture: the Baščaršija bazaar, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, copper workshops and coffee houses pouring Bosnian coffee much as they have for centuries. It is the most walkable and atmospheric district in the city, and the focal point for visitors. That tourist gravity makes it the strongest short-stay rental market in Sarajevo, but it comes with caveats: seasonality, a small and partly protected heritage building stock that is costly to renovate, and the prospect of tighter short-let rules that have spread across European cities. Buyers should underwrite to realistic, regulation-aware occupancy.
