Mapo

Mapo is where Seoul goes to be young. Its beating heart is Hongdae, the district that grew out of Hongik University's art school into the city's capital of indie music, street performance and late-night clubbing. Radiating outward are the cafe-lined lanes of Yeonnam and Yeonhui, strung along the "Yeontral Park" of the Gyeongui Line Forest, and the food stalls of Mangwon Market.
