Sohar Corniche

The Sohar Corniche is where the port city slows down. The whitewashed Sohar Fort, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque and the handicrafts souq cluster along a landscaped seafront, and in the cool of the evening families fill the promenade and the seafood restaurants nearby. It is the most walkable corner of a city otherwise built around its industrial port, and the closest Sohar has to a true lifestyle quarter. For investors the appeal is location and stability rather than spectacular returns. Foreign ownership is restricted outside tourism complexes, so the practical buyer here is Omani or a long-hold investor working through leasehold structures, attracted by central seafront living, steady tenant demand and the heritage character that the rest of the city lacks.
